Why Overnight Oats?

Okay, I’ll admit that at first, I was not an overnight oats supporter. I mean, cold oatmeal just sounded like a lane that I did not want to go down. Until I tried it and wow! Yes, yes, and yes! So, if you’re on the fence about this recipe, I recommend that you just give it a try and let me know what you think.

What are Overnight Oats?

Overnight oats is a type of “cooking” technique for oatmeal. It’s traditionally prepared in a mason jar but any jar with a lid will work just fine. It starts with old fashioned oats, adds milk, toppings and sweetener (if desired). Stir it all together, pop on the lid, and put it in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning, you’ll have delicious oatmeal to-go or to enjoy at home.

Is Overnight Oats Plant-Based or Vegan?

It can be! I love making overnight oats with plant-based milks like almond milk or oat milk. Agave is a great plant-based sweetener or add fresh fruit to make it sweet according to your liking.
