Want to Change Your Life? It Starts in Your Mind

by Erica E Turner

Our thoughts have the power to dictate the rest of your life. What starts as a thought, can evolve into an action and progress into a lifestyle. Right thinking and positive thoughts do not have to contradict the reality of your situation. What they do is actually correctly position your thoughts in alignment with truth.

3 Steps to Change Your Life

1.) Be conscious of what you’re thinking about — especially if you’re mood is changing or you did something that surprised yourself. Pause and consider, what am I thinking about that led me here?

2.) What are you watching and listening to? –What shows and movies are you watching? Do they align with your morals, values and beliefs? Take inventory, could it be that you’re desiring things just based on what you’re watching? Likewise the music we play has the power to affect us, especially music with lyrics, although, I believe all music can affect us for better or worse. Make sure you’re listening to songs that agree with the type of person you want to be. You can’t profess that you desire to be a gentleman and simultaneously listen to songs that degrade or demoralize women. You’ll eventually begin to believe the words that you’re listening and perhaps subconciously, you already do..

3.) Who are you surrounding yourself with? Of course there are instances when we do not have a choice of who’s around us, in such cases like work or school, but when we do have a choice, it’s important to surround yourself with people who are making decisions that align with the person you want to become. Remember, your life right now, is the sum of what you’ve been thinking about for a long time.
