Is It Time to Check Your Outlook?

If you find yourself having too many bad days in a row, maybe it’s time to take the metaphorical glasses of your life off and look at the lens. Chances are that over time they have collected dirt, debris and maybe the glass itself is broken and all of these things are negatively affecting your outlook.
You don’t have to continue to live your life looking out of these marred lenses. You can choose to deliberately check your outlook on life and change your perception today.
How to Know if it’s Time to Check Your Outlook Checklist
  • If you’re living for the weekend without enjoying the weekdays and expecting to find a treasure in each day, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If your joy is only based on your personal circumstances, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If your attitude has become so negative that you hardly recognize yourself, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If you’re constantly blaming and pointing the finger without ever examining your own heart, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If you’re constantly berating others in order to improve your own self image, then it’s time to check you’re outlook.
  • If there’s someone that you’re angry at that you choose not to forgive, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If joyous or peaceful people make you upset, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If you can’t find one thing to be thankful for every single day, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If your life is only about you and your household, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If you are too inward focused and self conscious, then it’s time to check your outlook.
  • If you have allowed your belief system to alter based only on circumstantial evidence, then it’s time to change your outlook.
This list can go on and on and can be customized in many ways but the truth of the matter is that we all need to take a moment from time to time to just take our glasses off and check out lenses. None of us, no not one of us, is immune from the difficulties or troubles of this life. They will come and when they come, we need to decide ahead of time if we are going to let them hinder our outlook on life and cripple our walk OR will we take off our glasses, take a good look at the lenses and CHOOSE to wipe away the things that have hit us. We don’t have to become prisoners to the difficulties of this life. Like Paul and Silas, let’s sing out in the night. Let’s not allow the difficulties of this life to take us captive, let’s use them as a catalyst to push us forward.
